Seeing Sounds
(Acrylic on Canvas, 36" x 48" )

Sound comes to us in waves. This work aims to depict a tangible representation of sound, by encapsulating the energy of various pieces of music through manipulation of colour and space.

Kicked to the Kerb and into my arms...

I love nothing more than seeing the potential of a piece. Old furniture can easily be afforded a second life with a little love and care.

My most recent find was a grey couch. The couch itself was in great condition, but the cover had seen better days, and wasn't quite enough of a statement piece for me.

Fast forward and the cover was ripped to pieces to form a pattern for some funky floral canvas fabric I found at spotlight. I pinned the pieces together inside-out over the couch to ensure they would fit when sew together and pieced my new couch together with my trusty sewing machine.

Here are the results :)

Pots Pots Pots!

I am a plant fanatic, and any cutting I can grow, I'll grow. My plants recently started to outgrow their propagation stations (recycled bottles) and were in need of a move.

I expanded my sound series to start painting terracotta pots. The colour palette is more refined and each pot made in response to a singular song.

Fun fact!

Plants emit sounds however, they are such a high frequency that the human ear cannot hear them.
